The Significance of Automated SCM in Lowering Carbon Footprints
Verification
Related to verification, the accurate primary data for carbon footprint calculation must be automated and cannot be done manually. The Tier 3 standard for carbon footprint calculation should use primary data such as sensor device
Record & Calculate
the importance of recording and calculating carbon footprint in accordance with standard guidelines applicable, such as ISO 14064 and GRI 305, in order to monetize and verification the carbon footprint
Tracking Carbon Footprint
The information of carbon footprint is available but segregated and scattered in various form of data and found in many business entities. So, it is important to have automated and integrated platform
Why Decarbonization now ?
CBAM & IFRS
World start to release responsible purchasing policy like CBAM and IFRS S1 in response of the Global Warming. The main goal of CBAM is to ensure that imports have paid a price for the carbon emissions produced during their manufacturing.
Carbon Tax
Indonesia government regulations Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) 33 Tahun 2023, It is planned to be implemented in the near future, that regulates: 1) implementation of energy conservation; 2) convenience, incentives and disincentives; 3) data and information; and 4) guidance and supervision related to energy conservation
Euro Green Deal
aims to set the EU on the path to a green transition, with the ultimate goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2050. It supports the transformation of the EU into a fair and prosperous society with a modern and competitive economy.
Scope 1, 2 and 3 Emission
In order to take action to reduce emissions, it’s important to understand and measure where they’re sourced from in the first place. The Three Scopes are a way of categorising the different kinds of emissions a company creates in its own operations and in its wider ‘value chain’ (its suppliers and customers).
the name comes from the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, which is the world’s most widely used greenhouse gas accounting standard. As the Greenhouse Gas Protocol itself puts it: “Developing a full [greenhouse gas] emissions inventory – incorporating Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions – enables companies to understand their full value chain emissions and focus their efforts on the greatest reduction opportunities”.

Scope 1
Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by an organization. Combustion of fossil fuels in company-owned facilities, such as power plants, factories, oe boilers; also company-owned vehicles and equipment.
Scope 2
Emissions are indirect emissions resulting from the generation of purchased electricity consumption obtained from the grid, heat, or steam that used in production processes
Scope 3
Emissions are indirect emissions from sources not owned or controlled by an organization, but related to its activities; Purchased goods and services: Emissions associated with the entire life cycle of products or services purchased by the organization. Transportation and distribution: Emissions from the transportation of goods and materials used by the organization.
