Jakarta — A strategic cross-country dialogue on the future of industry and digital transformation took place at The Westin Jakarta during the German Indonesian Dialogue on Quality Infrastructure. The event brought together Indonesian industry stakeholders with representatives from Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

One of the central themes was Retrofitting 4.0, an approach that enables companies to modernize their industrial systems by aligning technological upgrades with market potential, workforce readiness, budget capacity, and existing organizational strengths. The strategy aims to help manufacturers enhance competitiveness without fully replacing their current production infrastructure.
In line with this transformation, METASMESTA and Indonesia In Your Hand are developing an SMEs Blockchain initiative designed to protect the authenticity of Indonesian products. By integrating blockchain technology with artificial intelligence, the system enables end-to-end traceability from the production process through to the final consumer.

“Our goal is to empower Indonesian SMEs with technology that ensures product authenticity, strengthens trust, and opens broader global market opportunities,” said Amiranto Adi Wibowo, CEO of METASMESTA. “By combining blockchain, artificial intelligence, and industrial connectivity, we are building a transparent ecosystem that benefits producers and consumers alike.”
Participants also highlighted the growing integration of hardware and software through the Internet of Things (IoT), which is expected to create increasingly interconnected industrial ecosystems. At the same time, they emphasized rising cybersecurity concerns, particularly as more corporate data is stored in cloud environments that may be vulnerable to cyberattacks.
The dialogue underscored the importance of international collaboration in building high-quality, secure, and sustainable industrial infrastructure while strengthening Indonesia’s position within the global digital manufacturing landscape.
